School closures: Caddo, Bossier Schools cancels classes for remainder of week

Several school systems and colleges and universities are making decisions on classes due to the weather.

Here is the latest:

Caddo Schools

All Caddo Schools and sites will be closed on Thursday and Friday due to the weather.

Classes will resume on Monday.

Bossier Schools

All Bossier schools and centers will remain for the rest of the week due to to the extreme weather conditions.  This includes the virtual program. The Bossier Parish School Board meeting has been rescheduled from Feb. 18 to Feb. 25.

Northwestern State University

 All classes on all Northwestern State University campuses will be held virtually beginning at noon Wednesday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 19.  Employees on all campuses will telework beginning Tuesday, February 16, and will continue working remotely through Friday, February 19, according to NSU President Dr. Chris Maggio.  

Administrators closely watching the Natchitoches-area forecast determined that roads could remain hazardous for several days following the arctic blast that crept into Texas and Louisiana overnight Sunday.   

LSUS closes campus this week

Due to weather, the LSUS campus will remain closed on Tuesday, Feb. 16, Wednesday, Feb. 17, Thursday, Feb. 18, and Friday, Feb. 19. 

All face-to-face classes scheduled from Feb.17-19 will be taught remotely. Students should check Moodle or contact their instructors immediately for further information. 100% of online classes will continue as scheduled. 

The university will make an announcement on Friday, Feb.19 about the reopening of campus during the week of Feb. 22. 

BPCC closes campus this week

Bossier Parish Community College will close its campus and shift to online learning on Monday, Feb. 15, and Tuesday, Feb. 16, this week.
