Season series: Chicago won 2-1

Atlanta last 4 straight games to finish the season as the 10 seed with a 36-46 record. The Hawks were routed 157-115 by the Indiana Pacers on Sunday while failing to cover as 13.5-point road underdogs. They had a 15-26 road record this season and were 29-53 against the spread (ATS).

Chicago finished the regular season as the 9 seed with a 39-43 record while going 20-21 at home and 41-40-1 ATS. The Bulls lost 120-119 in OT on Sunday to the New York Knicks, covering as a 13.5-point road underdog. The Bulls won 2 of their last 3 regular season games.

The loser of this game heads off to vacation while the winner meets the loser of the Miami Heat/Philadelphia Sixers game.

Hawks at Bulls picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 115, Hawks 113

Moneyline

LEAN BULLS (-155).

The Bulls have won in 2 of their last 3 matchups vs. Atlanta. Chicago is also the slightly hotter team entering this matchup as the Hawks finished the season on a losing streak and also got blown out in their last game.

This is only a lean because I believe the Hawks have the better roster, and I trust the Hawks more in a 1-game scenario more than I trust the Bulls, but recent trends suggest to back the Bulls.

Against the spread

LEAN HAWKS +3.5 (-110).

I like the Hawks to cover here as slight underdogs. The Hawks have proven they can play up to their level of competition in bursts, and I believe those bursts will help the Hawks cover here.

This is a very risky bet as the Bulls have been the better team ATS as of late while also being the better team ATS overall this season.

Over/Under

BET OVER 221.5 (-115).

The Over has hit in each of Chicago's last 4 games. For Atlanta, the Over has hit in 4 of its last 5 games and is 7-3 in its last 10 overall. The Over has also been safer for both teams this year, being 46-36 for the Hawks and 44-37-1 for the Bulls.

Be aware that the Under has hit in 2 of the last 3 Atlanta-Chicago matchups.
