MANY – If the General Trass football team never sees Many’s three-headed monster of London Williams, Terrence Williams and Tackett Curtis again in this lifetime, they’ll probably be happy campers.

That was thanks to London Williams, who scored six times, cousin Terrence Williams, who tallied four times, and to Curtis, who left a handful of serious imprints on the opposition from his safety position.

The end result was a 83-36 Many victory sending the Tigers (11-0)  to a second consecutive LHSAA Class 2A state championship game on Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. The Tiger entourage must travel just 28 miles up La. 6 to Northwestern’s Turpin Stadium to claim another state title.

Many's London Williams runs against General Trass in the LHSAA Class 2A semifinal contest. Williams scored six touchdowns in the contest.

“We really like the matchup of our offense against their defense,” Many coach Jess Curtis said. “We were nicked up a little defensively and had to play some guys who weren’t comfortable in their spots.

“But this was all about us. We want to roar into that championship game. We’ve got some unfinished business.”

Friday was a gruesome affair for the visitors from Lake Providence. Apparently in their Christmas gift-giving mode, General Trass (8-3) awarded Many seven short fields all were turned into easy touchdowns. London scored on runs of 25, 6, 4, 12, 21 and 67 yards with five of them coming before the first half horn sounded, while Terrence cashed in on runs of 3, 2, 12 and 11 yards.

Anyone who’s never caught a game at Tiger Stadium needs to make arrangements to see one next fall. Many had two forfeits and a road game to open the playoffs, so Friday’s affair was their first and only contest in their friendly confines and they obviously made the most of it.

It started with a monstrous fireworks display, apparently stored from the lack of home games, and that seemed to ignite the Many offense. The Tigers were ahead by two scores before the Panthers had settled in defensively. Trass (8-3) did respond with a trio of long TDs from Demontrell Quinn (67 yards), Jar’Veya Campbell (95-yd kickoff return) and Wydett Williams (60 yards). But that was like pouring a bucket of water on a forest fire.

Just for funzies, Many quarterback Cadillac Williams hit Carson Comeaux for a 72-yard score in the third quarter. That made it 62-20 with a quarter and a half remaining.
