COLLEGE STATION, Texas — When you cannot score until 38 seconds remain in the game, you failed.

The LSU offense receives an 'F' after managing just a touchdown and an extra point in the final minute of the 20-7 loss at Texas A&M Saturday night.

The Tigers stumbled to 25 yards on 36 rushes. They totaled 14 first downs and converted two out of 16 third downs. There were also two interceptions, including a pick-six, by quarterback TJ Finley.

Any questions?

"We've got to have a better plan," LSU coach Ed Orgeron said.

He has said that before.

DEFENSE - B: The Tigers' defense actually continues to improve. LSU forced 12 punts and harassed Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond into a horrible night of 11-of-34 passing for 105 yards. LSU allowed only 267 total yards.

"The defense had some stops," Orgeron said. "I thought the defense made a lot of improvement."

SPECIAL TEAMS - C: Punter Zach Von Rosenberg punted 11 times for a 40.1-yard average. But Cade York missed a 34-yard field goal in the second quarter that would have cut A&M's lead to 10-3 and, more importantly, made the offense feel a little better about itself.

COACHING - C: LSU's offensive coaches have a pair of true freshman quarterbacks they are being forced to play because of junior Myles Brennan's abdomen injury. But this group seems unable to adjust on the fly, and Orgeron continues to criticize their game plans.
