Ascension Parish food distribution event rescheduled for April 23

Ascension Parish government announced the rescheduled monthly food distribution event in collaboration with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank for residents in need will be April 23.

Due to unforeseen circumstances stemming from the recent storm April 10, the monthly food distribution, initially scheduled for that date, had to be postponed.

The event will be at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales in the parking lot, starting promptly at 8 a.m.

Residents who typically receive monthly food distributions from the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank can attend this rescheduled event.

For those interested in participating in future food commodities distributions but have not yet registered, sign-up opportunities are available at the OLOL Healthy Ascension Public Health Unit.

The Health Unit, located at 1024 SE Ascension Complex, Gonzales, LA 70737, operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Interested individuals must provide proof of income, residency, and a valid photo ID.
