Double dose of snow, ice cause northeast Louisiana weather closings on Feb. 19

The following organizations have announced closures for Feb. 19 because of continued problems caused by wintry weather, such as hazardous road conditions and power outages caused by ice and snow.

Governments, businesses and nonprofits

  • Monroe Transit System: Closed Friday and Saturday
  • Monroe Regional Airport: Closed until further notice
  • Ouachita Parish Library: All branches closed until Monday

Schools cancelling classes on Friday include:

  • Ouachita: Closed through Friday
  • Monroe City: Virtual instruction through Friday
  • East Carroll: Virtual learning through Friday
  • Caldwell: Virtual instruction through Friday
  • Franklin: Distance learning (virtual assignment or packets) through Friday
  • Jackson: Virtual learning through Friday
  • Lincoln: Virtual learning through Friday
  • Madison: Virtual learning through Friday
  • Morehouse: Closed through Friday
  • Richland: Virtual learning through Friday
  • Tensas
  • Union: Virtual learning through Friday
  • West Carroll: Distance learning through Friday
  • Louisiana Tech University: Classes are online
  • Louisiana Delta Community College: Campuses closed and classes canceled
  • University of Louisiana Monroe: Closed through Friday
  • Grambling State University: Closed through Friday
