Caddo Parish's COVID-19 death toll rises about 400

Caddo Parish surpassed 400 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The parish had six new deaths on Tuesday to raise the parish's total to 402.

Caddo Parish also had 119 new cases to raise its total to 10,469. The good news was the 119 cases came on 3,725 tests for a 3.2% positive test percentage.

Medical experts have expressed a desire for positive test percentage to be at 5% or less.

Bossier Parish, meanwhile, had 65 new cases to give it 4,446 total cases. Those 65 cases came on 1,717 tests for a 3.8% positive test percentage. 

Bossier Parish has 123 deaths due to COVID-19.

COVID-19 cases Caddo Parish surpasses 10,000 positive COVID-19 cases

DeSoto Parish had nine new cases. The parish has 1,054 total cases and 35 COVID-19 deaths.

Webster Parish had 35 new cases to bring its total to 1,530. There have been 41 deaths due to the virus in the parish.

Sabine Parish had 20 new cases, giving it 1,035 total. The parish has 15 COVID-19 deaths.

Natchitoches Parish added 26 more cases to bring its total to 1,536. The parish has 32 deaths due to COVID-19.

 Bossier, Caddo parishes show high COVID-19 positivity rates for last week

The fewest new cases in northwest Louisiana came at Red River. The parish had eight new cases. Red River Parish has 463 cases with 24 COVID-19 deaths.

Bienville Parish had 10 new cases. The parish has 633 cases with 35 COVID-19 deaths.

Claiborne Parish had 14 new cases to give it 621 total. Twenty-six people have died from COVID-19 in the parish.

Lincoln Parish had 29 new cases to raise its total to 1,731. There have been 52 COVID-19 deaths in the parish.
