Bossier Parish remains above 10 percent COVID-19 positivity rate for 4th straight day

Bossier Parish's positivity rate for COVID-19 testing remained above 10% for the fourth consecutive day on Friday.

Medical experts indicate a desire for the positive test percentage to be at 5% or less.

Bossier Parish had 47 more cases on Friday. Those new cases came on 466 tests for a 10.1% positive test percentage. Bossier Parish has 4,129 cases with 117 deaths due to the virus, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Caddo Parish, meanwhile, is climbing toward 10,000 cases. The parish had 73 new cases to give it 9,928 cases. Those 73 cases came on 1,250 tests for a positive test percentage of 5.8.

Caddo Parish had an additional COVID-19 to bring the parish's total to 392.

DeSoto Parish had two more cases to give it 1,009 cases. There have been 35 deaths in the parish due to the virus.

Webster Parish had seven new cases to give it 1,452 cases. There were two more deaths due to COVID-19 in the parish, raising the total to 40.

Sabine Parish has 976 cases after having four more cases on Friday. The parish had one more death to give it 15 COVID-19 deaths.

Natchitoches Parish had four more cases to give it 1,448 total. There have been 28 COVID-19 deaths in the parish.

There were eight new cases in Red River Parish. The parish has 415 cases with 24 deaths because of the virus.

Bienville Parish had five new cases to bring its total to 589. There have been 33 COVID-19 deaths in the parish.

Claiborne Parish had the fewest new cases in northwest Louisiana with one. The parish has 600 cases and 24 deaths because of the virus.

Lincoln Parish had three new cases to give it 1,633 total. There have been 48 deaths due to COVID-19 in the parish.
