Man arrested in hit and run

Fort Smith Police arrested a man in connection with a Wednesday afternoon hit-and-run that left a pedestrian severely injured.

Victor Perdo Domingo allegedly hit Juan Antonio Castillo,33, around 3 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North 45th and North J Streets.

Domingo admitted to driving the dark blue Chevrolet Malibu that struck Castillo who was riding an intertube pulled by a van in the snow. Police determined that the Malibu was travelling too fast for the snowy condition.

Castillo was transported to a hospital outside the area having sustained life-threatening injuries and is reportedly in critical condition.

According to a Fort Smith Police Department release, Domingo was booked for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, driving without a license, and driving too fast for conditions. He is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
